August 25th, 2005 Thursday evening Springfield, MO got a tragic shock.  Pool Player Shannon Nichols, has passed away.  Shannon was 29 years old. 

     He was the new Assistant Manager to Sharkys Billiards and Grill. He had been in the Pool Scene for all of his life. He had been on the road too many times to mention.  He will truly be missed by many.  He graduated from Drury University and was on his way to Georgetown.   

   Sharkys Billiards and Grill located at 525 S Glenstone will be hosting a Donation Pool Tournament in his name September 3rd at 5 pm.  All of the entry fees will go to his family.  Entry fees will be $10 but we will accept any donation.   If you would like to send money though you wont be able to attend we will gladly accept it and add your name to the donation list. 

   On a personal note, Shannon was the smartest person I have ever known.  He could tell a story like no other.  I asked him several times to write a book about his travels, hes been on the road with Little Andy, Danny Hairman, Tido, Stevie Matlock and the boys from Springfield to many tournaments.  Tulsa, OK  knows his name well.  For those of you that knew Shannon you know how much he will be missed, for those of you that didnt know him, I wish you could have heard him tell a story about his 5 year old niece and how they would try to sneak around and hide birthday presents from her mom but that she would always let the bag out early, or how he cooked a mean spaghetti, or hear him tell a story about how crazy Tido was and how he would give John Mooney the 7 out from snooring!   Losing him has been a shock to us all, he laid down to take a nap, you know the pool halls life, up all night, sleep all day, and he never woke up!    Shannon we love you, and we miss you dearly!
